MANAGUA, Nicaragua – The Concacaf Nations League group stage continues as Nicaragua faces Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in League B action at the National Stadium in Managua, Nicaragua.
The two sides have met previously on three occasions with both teams collecting a win apiece.
The two last met on matchday one of Concacaf Nations League Qualifying. That encounter was won by Nicaragua 2-0 at Saint Vincent and the Grenadines with goals from Henry Nino and Juan Barerra.
Barrera was a key man for Nicaragua throughout the qualifiers with a team-high five goals. Every match where the Ocotal native saw the scoresheet ended in a Nicaragua win.
Nicaragua went on to win two of their next three qualifiers and, thanks to their ninth-place finish, participated in the Gold Cup.
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines also went on to win two out of three after their opening qualifying match to finish 20thin the standings.
The Caribbean team took part in friendlies with Trinidad and Tobago and twice against Belize in August to arrive in rhythm for their Nations League opener.
The encounter will be the second match of Group D as Dominica and Suriname face off earlier in the day.
