MIAMI – The 2024/25 Concacaf Nations League Play-In continues on Tuesday, with teams competing in the Play-In round to advance their hopes of qualifying for the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup.
Belize will seek to defend a 2-1 lead from its first-leg home victory as it visits French Guiana. Guadeloupe and Guyana will look to avoid any surprises and advance to the Gold Cup Prelims after away wins in their opening bouts.
The aggregate score winner will advance to the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup Prelims. Away goals will serve as the first tiebreaker. If necessary, extra time and penalties will be played to define a winner.
Guadeloupe vs. Cayman Islands
Guadeloupe hosts the Cayman Islands in the second leg of their Play-In series at Stade Roger Zami in Le Gosier, Guadeloupe.
The Cayman Islands face an uphill battle after losing 6-nil at home in the first leg.
Raphael Mirval, Jordan Leborgne, and Ange Plumain struck in the first half to place Guadeloupe in the lead. Vikash Tille, Kenny Mixtur and an own goal from Dominic Owens sealed the away victory in the second half.
The encounter will mark a third all-time between the nations. Guadeloupe has won the previous two, which includes Friday’s encounter.
French Guiana vs. Belize
French Guiana and Belize face off in the second leg of their Play-In series at Dr. Ir. Franklin Essed Stadion in Paramaribo, Suriname.
Carlos Bernárdez and Eugene Martinez scored in the second half to break a deadlock in the first leg. Belize went on to win 2-1 at home to take the lead in the series.
Thomas Torvic scored in the 90'+3 off a corner kick before the end of the opening encounter to cut the deficit down as French Guiana prepares for the second leg.
Belize improved its lead in the all-time series to four wins to two for French Guiana, and one draw.
Guyana vs. Barbados
Guyana hosts Barbados in the second leg of their Play-In series at the Synthetic Track and Field Stadium in Leonora, Guyana.
Niall Reid-Stephen scored the lone goal for Barbados in the first leg and will be a key player if the visitors are to make a comeback attempt in the second leg.
Omari Glasgow scored a brace for Guyana to lead the team to a 4-1 victory away from home. Osaze de Rosario also had a standout game with a goal and an assist. Enoch George struck in stoppage time to put a bow on Guyana’s series-opening victory.
The two countries share a rich history with 23 matches played. Guyana has ten wins to Barbados’ six, with seven draws.
