Dominican Republic and Bermuda win in League B

MIAMI – The Dominican Republic maintained its lead in Group D of League B as the 2024/25 Concacaf Nations League continued at the ABFA Technical Center in Piggotts, Antigua and Barbuda.

The Dominican Republic defeated Dominica in a battle for first place, while Bermuda earned its first victory of the campaign against Antigua and Barbuda. The matchday concluded the September schedule in the group.

Dominican Republic vs. Dominica

The Dominican Republic won 2-nil against Dominica in a matchup for first place in Group D. Both teams won their opening encounters, but it was the Dominican Republic who prevailed with a second consecutive victory.

Ronaldo Vásquez opened the scoring in the 11’, flicking in the ball with the back of his foot into the goal area.

Dorny Romero extended the lead in the 25’ striking inside the box to add to his tally as the Dominican Republic’s leading scorer in the tournament.

Xavier Valdez earned his first clean sheet of the campaign in the three-point effort.

With a perfect 2-0-0 record, the Dominican Republic sits first in the group to continue its promotion hopes.

Antigua and Barbuda vs. Bermuda

Bermuda rose to second in Group D with a 1-nil against Antigua and Barbuda. 

The result marked a first win for Bermuda over Antigua and Barbuda in an official match for the first time since 1992.

Kane Crichlow capitalized in the 56’ with some excellent dribbling to get past the defense and strike the lone goal of the match.

Antigua and Barbuda nearly found the equalizer in the closing minutes, in the 87’, when Keon Greene connected with a volley but sent it wide.

Vashami Allen received a red card in the 90'+6 and will miss the next encounter.
