Dominican Republic continues perfect start in League B

MIAMI – The 2024/25 Concacaf Nations League wrapped up October play in League B with two matches in Group D at the National Sports Centre in Hamilton, Bermuda.

The Dominican Republic remained perfect by gaining its fourth consecutive victory. Bermuda earned a second victory against Dominica in a close encounter.

Dominican Republic vs. Antigua and Barbuda

The Dominican Republic won 5-nil against Antigua and Barbuda to remain in first place in Group D. 

Luiyi de Lucas opened the scoring in the 14’ when he ripped a blast near the penalty spot.

Heinz Mörschel extended the lead in the 35' after Joao Urbaez used his footwork to get through the defense and set up the goal.

Dorny Romero got on the board in the 45'+1 with a penalty kick conversion before the halftime whistle.

Júnior Firpo drilled a left-footed curler in the 52’, his third goal in two matches, to increase the Dominican Republic lead by four.

César García put a bow on the victory with a fifth goal in the 75’, tapping in a corner kick service at the back post.

Bermuda vs. Dominica

Bermuda won 3-2 against Dominica, improving to nine points and maintaining second place in the group. Dominica stayed in third place with three points.

Dominica defender Marcus Breadas conceded an own goal in the 37’, sliding to clear the ball and redirecting it into his own net. 

Kole Hall extended the Bermuda lead in the 45’ after receiving a dangerous cross in front of the net. His first attempt was blocked by the Dominica goalkeeper Glenson Prince, but Hall was able to knock in the rebound. 

Dominica scored two goals to start the second half. Troy Jules found some space and got the visitors on the board in the 51’ to cut the deficit. 

Audel Laville got the equalizer in the 59’ with a penalty kick, tying the match at two apiece.

Bermuda regained the lead after Harry Twite blew past defenders on a strong run from near midfield, with Jai Bean finishing off the effort for the match-winner in the 68’.
