MIAMI, Florida – The fourth round of matches in Group C and Group D of League B of the 2022-23 Concacaf Nations League could mark the difference between being in the promotion picture or fighting relegation.
Six nations will have plenty to say before the competition takes a nine-month break.
Trinidad and Tobago vs. Saint Vincent
Beginning the day in Group C will be Trinidad and Tobago hosting Saint Vincent and the Grenadines at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain. The home side will look for consecutive victories over Vincy Heat after a 2-0 victory in Arnos Vale just days ago.
Trinidad and Tobago currently sit second place in the group, just one point behind leaders Nicaragua.
This will mark the 16th overall encounter between the two. The Soca Warriors lead the all-time series 10 wins to four with one draw.
Cornelius Stewart is the top scorer in the competition for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines with three. Neveal Hackshaw took the goal-scoring lead for Trinidad and Tobago with two to his name.
Nicaragua vs. Bahamas
Nicaragua will then host the Bahamas at the National Football Stadium in Managua in the day’s other game in Group C. The home side will look to remain unbeaten after getting seven points from their first three CNL matches.
This will mark only the second encounter between the two nations. Nicaragua took a 2-0 victory at the Bahamas just a few days ago.
Byron Bonilla remains the top scorer in CNL for Nicaragua with four to his name. The legendary Lesly St Fleur, who is the country’s all-time top scorer in both football and Beach Soccer, unsurprisingly has four career CNL goals and leads the way for Bahamas.
Guatemala vs. Dominican Republic
The lone match of the day in Group D sees Guatemala welcoming the Dominican Republic to the Doroteo Guamuch Flores Stadium in Guatemala City. The two played to a hard-fought 1-1 encounter in Santo Domingo on matchday three.
This will mark the third overall encounter between the nations. Neither has come away the winner as both previous encounters ended in draws.
Both teams sit on four points and can help themselves in their pursuit of first place French Guiana (7 points) with a win.
Danilo Guerra is the top CNL scorer for Guatemala with six goals. Dorny Romero and Jean Carlos López each have three goals to lead the way for the Dominican Republic.
