Nicaragua, Bahamas seek second straight wins in Group C

MIAMI, Florida – The second round of matches in Group C of League B of the 2022-23 Concacaf Nations League continues as teams trade home fields.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago, who both played away on matchday one, will look to pick up their first CNL points in this edition. Nicaragua and Bahamas will be out to build on their opening day victories and keep their spots in the top two.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines vs. Nicaragua

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines will welcome Nicaragua to the Arnos Vale Stadium. This meeting marks the third CNL encounter between the two nations that also faced off in League B of the previous edition.

The two last played at Arnos Vale on November 15, 2019, as Vincy Heat took a 1-0 victory thanks to a goal from Jahvin Sutherland. Nicaragua did come away with a 2-0 win, courtesy of Henry Nino and Juan Barrera, when they crossed paths during Concacaf Nations League Qualifying on September 18, 2018.

Despite generating more shots against Bahamas, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines fell 1-0 in their opening match. Nicaragua were victorious 2-1 over Trinidad and Tobago to take the top spot of the group after the first round of matches.

Trinidad and Tobago vs Bahamas

Trinidad and Tobago will hope to obtain its first CNL victory when it hosts Bahamas at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain. The two nations meet for their second ever encounter after going scoreless during their recent tussle during Concacaf World Cup Qualifying for Qatar 2022.

This meeting pits two teams on opposing trajectories, as Trinidad and Tobago look to overturn their relegation from League A and put an end to their 0-2-3 CNL record, while recently promoted Bahamas hope to extend their five-match unbeaten streak in CNL matches.

The Soca Warriors were edged by the minimum margin in a 2-1 defeat at Nicaragua to open their current campaign. Lesly St. Fleur, the captain and all-time leader in goals and appearances for Bahamas, increased his legendary status with the match-winning goal for a 1-0 victory over Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
