Six goals in two matches seal quarterfinals berth for Suriname in League A

Suriname’s stellar attack secured a historic first CNL quarterfinals berth for the country with six goals in its final group stage fixtures. Suriname finished second in Group A of League A with seven points following a 1-1 draw with Costa Rica and a 5-1 win against Guyana.

Gleofilo Vlijter scored Suriname’s goal to secure a valuable point against Costa Rica. A brace by Sheraldo Becker and strikes from Virgil Misidjan, Denzel Jubitana and Ridgeciano Haps led to the win against Guyana.

Belize extends unbeaten streak, secures League B promotion

Belize concluded the group stage by extending its unbeaten streak to four to finish first place in Group B with a 4-0-0 record. The Central American nation’s two wins in October also helped the team secure promotion to League B for the next edition of the tournament.

Orlando Velasquez scored to help Belize clinch the top spot in Group B of League C with a 1-nil win at Anguilla. Jordy Polanco, Moisés Hernández and Krisean López were the scorers in the second match of the window for a 3-nil victory against Turks and Caicos Islands.

Goals galore in League C

League C action presented goals on a platter. In all, 31 goals were scored across nine fixtures during the October window, with no matchups resulting in a goalless draw.

Barbados was the top-scoring nation in League C in October with an impressive 11 goals in its two encounters.

Aruba’s Jayden Kruydenhof becomes youngest scorer in CNL history

A new milestone was set in the CNL as Aruba forward Jayden Kruydenhof became the youngest scorer in the competition’s history, at 17 years and 300 days of age.

Kruydenhof scored in the 78’ to notch Aruba’s third goal in the 5-3 loss against Haiti in League B.

Andre Blake performances in goal key as Jamaica advance to quarterfinals

Jamaica goalkeeper Andre Blake was unbeatable in goal, recording two clean sheets to help the Reggae Boyz secure wins in Group B of League A. Blake was also the goalkeeper with the most saves and clearances in League A, tallying 11 saves.

Jamaica claimed its place in the CNL quarterfinals by closing out the group stage with a 2-nil win at Nicaragua and a goalless draw against Honduras. The results helped Jamaica finish first place in its group.

Cayman Islands secure first-ever CNL promotion

The Cayman Islands achieved a historic first-ever promotion in the CNL and will compete in League B in the next edition. The Caribbean nation closed out the League C group stage with a 1-nil win over the British Virgin Islands and 1-1 draw against St. Kitts and Nevis to finish as the best second-placed team and gain promotion.

Zachary Scott finished tied for first place amongst the top assist providers in League C, while Cameron Gray finished as leader in terms of ball recoveries with 13.
