MIAMI — The worldwide spotlight on youth soccer remains in the Dominican Republic as the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup concludes its group stage ahead of the quarterfinals on the weekend.
In club soccer, the road to the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup continues as Concacaf Central American Cup and Concacaf Caribbean Cup resume their knockout rounds this week.
Here’s what is on tap across the region:
Concacaf Central American Cup
The semifinals of the Concacaf Central American Cup begin with the first leg encounters. Antigua GFC will host defending champions LD Alajuelense on Tuesday while last year’s runners-up Real Estelí meet CS Herediano on Thursday.
Two additional CCC spots will be decided in the Play-In round featuring the four eliminated teams from the quarterfinals. FC Motagua and CD Águila will meet on Tuesday followed by Comunicaciones FC against Deportivo Saprissa on Wednesday.

Concacaf Caribbean Cup
The 2024 Concacaf Caribbean Cup will determine its two finalists as the semifinals commence with its first leg encounters.
Real Hope FA and Cibao FC will meet on Wednesday. Moca FC and Cavalier FC will meet on Thursday. The results will carry over to the second leg encounters next week.

FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup
Hosts Dominican Republic and the United States will be seeking to advance to the quarterfinals as the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2024 begins its last round of group stage matches on Tuesday. Mexico will seek to exit the tournament with a victory on Wednesday.
The top two teams in each group will advance to the quarterfinals, which will be played on Saturday and Sunday.
