History

Men’s soccer was first included in the Olympic program at Paris 1900 and has been contested at every edition since except for the Los Angeles 1932 Games.

The 1900 and 1904 games featured club teams. Canada won a gold medal in St. Louis 1904, represented by Galt F.C., while the United States achieved a Silver and Bronze in the same edition as Christian Brothers College and St. Rose Parish, respectively.

Since the format change to national teams, Mexico has been the most successful nation by winning gold at London 2012 and bronze at Tokyo 2020. Mexico, Honduras and the United States are the Concacaf nations that have reached the semifinals in the current format.

Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, the Netherlands Antilles, now Curacao, and the United States are the Concacaf countries that have participated in the men's Olympic games.
