MIAMI, Florida – This Friday, the draw for the 2022 Concacaf Women’s Under-17 Championship Qualifiers took place at Concacaf Headquarters in Miami, Florida.
The teams participating in the Qualifiers are (in ranking order): Honduras, Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, Curacao, Dominica, Cayman Islands, US Virgin Island, Anguilla, Guyana, Belize, Suriname, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Guadeloupe, and Turks and Caicos Islands.
The Qualifiers will feature round-robin play that will take place in August of 2021, with the four group winners advancing directly to the knockout stage of the Championship.
Here are the results of Friday’s draw:
Group A: Saint Kitts and Nevis, Dominica, U.S. Virgin Islands, Suriname
Group B: Barbados, Curacao, Belize, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Group C: Honduras, Cayman Islands, Anguilla, Turks and Caicos Islands
Group D: Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Lucia, Guyana, Guadeloupe
Following the completion of the Qualifiers, the Group Stage and Knockout Stage are scheduled to take place in the first quarter of 2022.
The 16 teams participating will be divided into four groups. After round-robin play, the top three teams in each group will advance to the Round of 16, joining the four Qualifiers winners.
The entire Knockout Stage (Round of 16, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Third-Place Match, and Final) will be played in a single match, direct elimination format. The winner, runner-up, and third place will qualify for the 2022 FIFAU-17 Women's World Cup.
The FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup is scheduled to be played in India between October 11-30, 2022.
