SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador – El Salvador under-20 national team head coach Eduardo Lara announced Tuesday a 20-player roster for the upcoming Central American qualifying tournament that will lead to berths in the 2017 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship.
The most players on the selection from any club was Turin FC’s four, while FAS provided three. Hector Pineda of Georgia United in the United States is the only foreign-based competitor.
The Salvadorans will contest the five-team tournament at the Estadio Maracana in the El Chorrillo section of Panama City, Panama, from July 8-16, 2016. They will open up against Honduras on July 10.
The top three finishers will advance to the CONCACAF event next year in Costa Rica. Other participating teams are Guatemala, Nicaragua and host Panama.
