USA, Mexico meet again for Concacaf U-20 Championship

LEON, Guanajuato – The United States and Mexico will meet in the 2024 Concacaf Men's U-20 Championship Final on Sunday at the Leon Stadium in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico.

Reigning champions, the U.S. continues their title defense in search of their fourth consecutive trophy. Mexico will look to win its 14th title and first since the 2015 edition.

The two nations will face off for the 12th time in the Concacaf Men's Under-20 Championship history and fourth in the tournament’s final. Mexico leads the all-time series with eight wins to the U.S.'s three, but the Americans have won the last two meetings.

The United States team will play the CMU20 final for the eighth time. They have won three of seven appearances in the championship game. The USA squad aims to be the first team since Mexico in 1976 to win the title four consecutive times.

Mexico will play the CMU20 final for the 11th time. The Mexican team holds the record for consecutive finals, winning six. The only time Mexico lost a final was in 2018 against the United States 2-nil.

David Vazquez leads the United States with three goals and is in pole position in the top scorer race heading into the final. Ruben Ramos was the U.S. leader in shots (7) in the final stage for the USA and has contributed two goals, along with Pedro Soma, Niko Tsakiris, and Marcos Zambrano.

Taha Habroune, Nikolas Tsakiris, David Vazquez, Zavier Gozo, and Marcos Zambrano each assisted for the USA. Adam Beaudry and Julian Eyestone have featured in goal for the U.S., combining for 14 saves and four clean sheets.

Amaury Morales leads Mexico with two goals, with Diego Ochoa, Diego Sánchez, Heriberto Jurado, Stephano Carrillo, Yael Padilla, Xavier Biscayzacú, Alexei Domínguez, Francisco Méndez, and Mateo Levy, each contributing one goal.

Amaury Morales also leads the Mexicans with three assists. Goalkeepers Emmanuel Ochoa, Pablo Lara, and Javier Orantes have contributed a combined seven saves and two clean sheets.
