MIAMI, Florida – The final day of action in 2022 Concacaf Women’s Under-20 Championship Qualifying saw Bermuda and the Cayman Islands become the final two teams to punch their tickets to next year’s CWU20 Championship.
Bermuda emerged as the top team in Group A and qualified for the 2022 CWU20 thanks to their 4-0 win over Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Jahni Simmons struck in the 24’ and 41’, before goals from Emily Cabral in the 53’ and Katherine Bean in the 75’ completed the clean sheet win for Bermuda.
Molly Kehoe proved to be the hero for the Cayman Islands with a hat trick in a 3-0 win against Anguilla, earning the Cayman Islands top spot in Group B and a place in the 2022 CWU20. Kehoe scored all five goals for the Cayman Islands in qualifying.
Group C wrapped up with Saint Lucia claiming an 8-0 win over Antigua and Barbuda on the strength of five goals from Krysan St. Louis (2’, 53’, 54’, 68’, 76’) and scores from Arnicka Louis (20’), Kylah Solomon (59’) and Faith Regis (80’).
Belize closed out the action in Group D on a high note with a 6-1 triumph over Grenada. Alisha Terry had a brace (22’, 43’), while Khalydia Velasquez (4’), Shendra Casimiro (25’) and Anahie Blanco (80’), along with an Erin Sylvester own goal in the 61’ accounted for Belize’s scoring. Grenada goal came from Shonika Phillip in the 81’.
