MIAMI, Florida – Canada and El Salvador picked up three points each to start their respective Group G campaigns in the 2022 Concacaf Women’s Under-20 Championship in the Dominican Republic at the Estadio Panamericano in San Cristobal.
Canada enjoyed a prolific outing as well in their opener, topping Saint Kitts and Nevis 7-0.

After the two GKs traded big saves, Akyla Walcott for Trinidad and Tobago and Andrea Dada for El Salvador, the Central Americans would break the deadlock in the 23’ on a fine finish from Lesly Calderon.
Josseline Uribe’s left-footed shot then gave the Cuscatlecas a 2-0 lead in the 43’ before Linda Guillen applied the finishing touches in the 87’ with a free kick that took a slight ricochet before rippling the back of the net.
