MIAMI, Florida – Concacaf Women’s Under-20 Championship Qualifying is in full flight and on Monday the teams Group C, Group D and Group F played their second matches of the tournament.
Guyana 10 Dominica 0
Group C at the Estadio Felix Sanchez in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Guyana made it two wins in two games with a 10-0 victory against Dominica.
Se-Hanna Mars (14’, 16’, 19’, 32’, 37’, 66’) was the star of the day with an amazing six goals, while Jalade Trim (5’, 90+2’) had a brace and Heike Clarke (48’) and Glendy Lewis (78’) each supplied scores.
Dominican Republic 3 Suriname 0
The second game saw host nation Dominican Republic also collect their second win in Qualifying in a 3-0 final with Suriname.
All three goals came in the second half, beginning with Jaylen Vallecillo in the 63’, followed by Isabella Ventura in the 82’ and Renata Mercedes in the 90+4’.
Trinidad and Tobago 3 Guadalupe 2
Group D resumed at the Rignaal Jean Francisca Stadium in Willemstad, Curacao, where Trinidad and Tobago squeezed past Guadeloupe 3-2 for another three points.
J’Eleisha Alexander accounted for all three Trinidad and Tobago goals, with scores in the 8’, 51’ and 61’. Guadeloupe’s goals came from Laetitia Echard in the 43’ and Sergyna Loubli in the 84’.
Puerto Rico 6 Cayman Islands 1
Puerto Rico also claimed their second win of the tournament in a 6-1 final with Cayman Islands. Kennedy Garcia (9’, 45+1’) scored a pair of goals, while Madison Krakower (24’), Payton Quinones (63’, Susana Roberts (75’) and Lisette Gregoris (90+3’) chipped in with scores for the Boricuas. Molly Kehoe tallied the Cayman Islands goal in the 45+2’.
Guatemala 3 Belize 0
The Estadio Nacional in Managua, Nicaragua, welcomed back the teams from Group F, starting with Guatemala’s 3-0 triumph over Belize. Paula Amaya (12’), Dina Polanco (30’) and Flor Perla (77’) scored to earn the Chapines their first win of the tournament.
Costa Rica 9 Saint Lucia 0
The nightcap saw Costa Rica deliver another impressive goalscoring display in a 9-0 win versus Saint Lucia. Alexa Herrera collected a hat trick (5’, 7’, 13’), while Sheika Scott (10’, 11’) and Samira Roper (43’, 49’) bagged braces along with goals from Veronica Matarrita (82’) and Monica Matarrita (90+1’) each bagged braces
The teams all return to the field of play on Wednesday with some massive encounters on the docket.
In Group C in Santo Domingo, hosts Dominican Republic will take on Guyana with the winner advancing to the CWU20. The Dominican Republic own the goal difference tiebreaker and only require a draw to advance. The day will begin with Suriname versus Dominica, in which each side will be seeking their first win.
Group D in Willemstad will feature another winner-take-all contest, as Puerto Rico and Trinidad and Tobago will collide for a place in the CWU20. Puerto Rico own a superior goal difference and would advance with a draw. Meanwhile, Cayman Islands and Guadeloupe will each try to finish CWU20Q on a positive note with a first win in the tournament when they square off.
Group F in Managua will see Guatemala search for a second straight win in a date with Saint Lucia, while home side Nicaragua hosts Belize.
