MEXICO CITY – The Mexican Football Federation announced Wednesday the squad that will compete at the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup to be played in Canada, August 5-24.
It will be Mexico’s fifth straight trip to the competition and sixth overall.
The inclusion of forward Tanya Samarzich, joint-top scorer at the 2014 CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 Championship with six goals, and goalkeeper Cecilia Santiago, a veteran of the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Germany, highlight the 21-player selection.
In the Group C play, the CONCACAF runner-up will face Nigeria (Moncton, August 6), England (Moncton, August 9) and Korea Republic (Toronto, August 13).
