Los Angeles, California β The next round of the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup will see a rematch of the Group Stage, as Canada and Costa Rica face each other once again on Saturday evening at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles in the first quarterfinal match of the tournament.

This will be the seventh time these teams have shared the pitch, with Canada having an overall record of 6W-0D-0L, including matches in the Concacaf W Championship, Concacaf Womenβs Olympic Qualifiers, Pan American Games and friendlies. The most recent encounter was their Group C finale in which Canada came out on top with a 3-0 win.

Canada emerged from the Group Stage as the leader of Group C with three wins against El Salvador, Paraguay and Costa Rica, getting 13 goals, while the defensive line kept a clean sheet in all three.
Six different players were the authors of the Canadian goals. FW Adriana Leon currently leads the tournament in scoring with five goals, also providing two assists. Next to her are players like FW Jordyn Huitema and FW Olivia Smith with two goals each.
FW Cloe Lacasse, DF Shelina Zadorsky and DF Kadeisha Buchanan are also on the scoring list, each getting one goal, showing the depth of their squad. Overall, Canada had 22 shots on target at the end of the Group Stage.
Costa Rica was also part of Group C, finishing with one win out of the three games they played, this victory coming in a 2-0 final against El Salvador.
Their first three points of the tournament were possible thanks to the services of FW Priscilla Chinchilla, responsible for scoring the only two goals of the Group Stage for Las Ticas. MF and legendary Captain Raquel Rodriguez was also very present in these encounters, assisting one of the goals, leading her team once again on the big stage.
Costa Rica has kept five clean sheets in the last 10 matches in general competitions, including one in the Group Stage. GK Daniela Solera made seven saves in the last week, keeping one clean sheet.
