Miami, FL – Following the conclusion of the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup Preliminary Round (Prelims), the three matchup winners, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and El Salvador, have advanced to the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup Group Stage, and will join Groups A, B, and C respectively.
The Prelims matches were played on February 17 at Dignity Health Sports Park Track and Field in Carson, CA, and included six women's national teams, all of which qualified through the 2023 Concacaf Road to W Gold Cup.
P1: Haiti (0) vs (1) Puerto Rico
P2: El Salvador (3) vs (1) Guatemala
P3: Guyana (0) vs (1) Dominican Republic
The 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup will be disputed among 12 teams from two Confederations, Concacaf and Conmebol, and includes seven teams that participated in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, and four that will partake in the 2024 Paris Olympics. These matches will be played from February 20 to 28 at three different stadiums – Dignity Health Sports Park (Group A), Snapdragon Stadium (Group B), and Shell Energy Stadium (Group C).
The groups were determined at the tournament's official draw on December 11, 2023, and are as follows:
Group A: United States, Mexico, Argentina, Dominican Republic
Group B: Brazil, Panama, Colombia, Puerto Rico
Group C: Canada, Costa Rica, Paraguay, El Salvador
After round-robin play, the winners of each group, along with the runners-up and the two best third-place finishers, will advance to the Knockout Stage. The Quarterfinals will be held at BMO Stadium on March 2 and 3, followed by the Semifinals and Final at Snapdragon Stadium on March 6 and 10, respectively.
