MIAMI, Florida – The quest to reach the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup continues on Thursday with a monumental match-up in Group C of League A of the Road to W Gold Cup, as Costa Rica host Haiti at the Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

Haiti lead the group with nine points through their three matches and boast a +25 goal difference.

Meanwhile, Costa Rica are second in the group on three points after just two matches with a +10-goal difference and can get back into the race for the top spot with a victory on home soil on Thursday.

These two teams met back in the September window during which Haiti came away with a narrow 1-0 win thanks to a goal from Nerilia Mondesir.

Fans can expect another tight contest between these two 2022 FIFA Women’s World Cup sides, and certainly Haiti would be content with a share of the spoils, as that would be enough to clinch a first-place finish and secure a place in the 2024 W Gold Cup group stage.

However, if Costa Rica can emerge with the full three points, that sets up an interesting final matchday for the Ticas against Saint Kitts and Nevis.

Costa Rica will be relying on the trio of Priscila Chinchilla, Melissa Herrera and Raquel Rodriguez to pull through. Chinchilla has three goals and an assist; Herrera has three goals, and two assists and Rodriguez has a pair of goals and assists thus far for the Central American side in this campaign.

Haiti’s Melchie Dumornay leads the RTWGC in scoring with eight goals, while Mondesir has been an attacking machine with five goals and eight assists. Not to be outdone is Batcheba Louis, who has five goals.
