MIAMI, Florida – This past Monday the Draw for the 2023 Concacaf W Gold Cup took place in which the 15 teams learned their group stage fate.
While the winner of the three Prelims matches will determine the final places in each of the three groups, there is still plenty of major tournament head-to-head history to look back on for the teams already qualified for the group stage.

In Group A, North American rivals the United States and Mexico will square off, along with Argentina and the winner of the Guyana-Dominican Republic Prelims match.
The U.S. and Mexico have faced each other eight times in the Concacaf W Championship, with seven wins for the U.S. and one victory for Mexico.
The U.S. has not played against Argentina in the FIFA Women’s World Cup nor in the Olympic Games, but they did meet once in the SheBelieves Cup in what was a 6-0 U.S. win.
Meanwhile, the W Gold Cup match between Mexico and Argentina will serve as the first match between the two nations in a major tournament.
The winner of the Prelims match between Haiti and Puerto Rico will round out Group B, which sees Panama take on South American opponents Brazil and Colombia.
The Panama-Brazil match will serve as a rematch of their 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup group stage affair in which Brazil earned a 4-0 victory against the Canaleras. Panama will also go up against Colombia for the first time in a major tournament.

Both Canada and Costa Rica make up Group C, along with Paraguay and the winner of the El Salvador-Guatemala Prelims affair.
Canada have played against Costa Rica in six Concacaf W Championship matches, with Canada winning all six contests, outscoring the Ticas 20-1.
Meanwhile, for both Canada and Costa Rica, their group stage encounter with Paraguay will mark the first meeting with Paraguay in a major tournament.
