MIAMI, Florida – High-flying Grenada return to the field of play on Sunday with a second straight encounter against the Bahamas in Group C of League C of the Road to W Gold Cup on Sunday afternoon at Kirani James Athletic Stadium in St. George’s, Grenada.
The Spice Girlz could not have asked for a better opening match than the one they had on Wednesday in Nassau. Five different players found the back of the net as part of a 6-1 final for their first three points of the competition.
Leading the way was Nia Thompson with a brace, while Roneisha Frank, Malia Ramdhanny, Ronniellia Bubb and Abigail Williams all adding their names to the scoresheet.
Another three points on Sunday would go a long way toward a first-place finish for Grenada.
But Bahamas showed a lot of fight in that opening affair, and were within 2-1 late in the second half thanks to a goal from Demitra McClure.
A sending off for Bahamas proved pivotal, as Grenada made the very most of their man advantage to tack on four late goals.
Bahamas will look to rectify that and produce a solid away performance.
