MIAMI, Florida – Mexico can secure a berth in the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup group stage with a result at Puerto Rico in Group A of League A of the Road to W Gold Cup on Friday night at the Estadio Juan Ramon Loubriel in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
At present, El Tricolor sit on six points through two games and own a two-point edge over the Boricuas and a five-point cushion on Trinidad and Tobago in the group.
A win or a draw would be enough to clinch a first-place finish in the group for Mexico and qualification for the W Gold Cup group stage.
However, a Puerto Rico win would lift the Boricuas into first-place in the group and could require a Mexico win at Trinidad and Tobago on the final matchday in order for Mexico to win the group.

These two sides met in the September window and it was a bright start from Puerto Rico, who took a 1-0 lead on an early own goal before Mexico rallied with goals from Maria Sanchez and Scarlett Camberos.
Puerto Rico will turn to the likes of Juelle Love, Jillienne Aguilera and GK Jlo Varada Vazquez for help. Love had an assist in the October window against Trinidad and Tobago, while Aguilera tallied the winning score in the 2-1 victory. Vazquez made seven saves in the two matches with Trinidad and Tobago.
Mexico will counter with Charlyn Corral, who has two goals and an assist, plus the ever-dangerous Alicia Cervantes, who has two goals in the RTWGC.
