MIAMI, Florida – Panama will look to make it two wins from two matches against Guatemala when the two teams meet at the Estadio Universidad Latina in Penonome, Panama on Sunday night in Group B of League A of the Road to W Gold Cup.
The Canaleras were hugely impressive in the first meeting between the two teams on Wednesday night in Antigua, Guatemala, in which goals from Riley Tanner, Marta Cox and Carmen Montenegro resulted in a commanding 3-0 victory against the Chapines.
Panama can further strengthen their position in the group with another victory on Sunday, this time in front of the home fans.
Cox and Tanner wreaked havoc all night on the Guatemalan defense, with Cox registering five shots, while Tanner had three.
Guatemala can get right back into the Group B picture, though, with a win and have the players to do it, such as captain Maria Monterroso and Aisha Solorzano in attack.
