MIAMI, Florida – The 2022 Concacaf W Championship kicks off July 4 in Monterrey, Mexico with eight teams in pursuit of lifting the trophy and proclaiming themselves champions of women’s football in the Concacaf region.

Each of the eight teams boast a special kind of player who is capable of making a play that can change the course of a game and swing things in their team’s favor.

MF Lindsey Horan is that player for the United States.

The 2022 UEFA Women’s Champions League winner with Olympique Lyonnais (France) is someone that has won it all and yet, is ready to keep proving to the world that she is not done.

Overall, Horan has played 109 matches with the United States Senior Women’s National Team, being of great service to her country with 25 goals and 34 assists. Five of those matches and one goal were at the CWC, played at USA 2018.

But Horan’s name is one that has been in the making since the 2010 Concacaf Women’s Under-17 Championship at Costa Rica 2010, where she scored eight goals for the U.S, becoming the top scorer in that year's championship. She also played at CWU20 in 2012 and 2014, scoring four goals in each tournament.

Horan joined the Senior Team for the CWC squad that became champions at USA 2018. She played five matches, scoring one goal. On a personal level, she was part of the Best XI and then repeated that feat by earning Best XI honors at the 2020 Concacaf Women’s Olympic Qualifying Championship.

She has also played at the Olympic Games, playing four matches at Rio 2016, and then five years later, traveling to Tokyo and becoming an Olympic Bronze Medalist, playing six matches and scoring one goal.

Horan’s history continues, as her FIFA Women’s World Cup participations are for the books. She played at the U-20 World Cup at Canada 2014, playing in four matches. Later on, she was selected to be in the National Team at France 2019, where the U.S became World Champions for the fourth time. She played a key role in this accomplishment, as she scored two goals in the tournament.

Having won it all with the USWNT, she is a game changer everytime she plays, and will look to do the same in Monterrey in the pursuit of Concacaf glory.
