Concacaf World Cup Qualifying resumes with Second Round matches

MIAMI – The Second Round of Concacaf Qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off on Wednesday with six matches across the region, as World Cup Qualifying continues the Road to 2026.

Antigua and Barbuda and Bermuda will get things underway on matchday one. Nicaragua against Montserrat and Guatemala versus Dominica will co-headline the day’s action.

Antigua and Barbuda vs. Bermuda

Antigua and Barbuda welcome Bermuda at the ABFA Technical Centre in Piggotts, Antigua and Barbuda.

Captain Quinton Griffith headlines the Antigua and Barbuda roster, including the nation's top scorers during the 2023–24 CONCACAF Nations League B in TJ Bramble, Raheem Deterville, and Javorn Stevens.

Bermuda will have its top scorer in the 2023-23 CNL League B in Kane Crichlow. The team will also have experienced players, especially in its backline, with Dante Leverock and goalkeeper Dale Eve.

Suriname vs. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Suriname will host Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the second encounter of the day at the Dr. Ir. Franklin Essed in Paramaribo, Suriname.

Myenty Abena, Ridgeciano Haps and Djevencio van der Kust look to build on their goals in the 2023-24 Concacaf Nations League A as part of the Suriname call-ups for qualifiers.

Oalex Anderson will be a player to watch for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The forward had a hat-trick in CNL play as the nation ended one point away from promotion out of League B.

Trinidad and Tobago vs. Grenada

Trinidad and Tobago hosts Grenada at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

Reon Moore, Nathaniel James, and Alvin Jones led the Soca Warriors in CNL League A in goals and will look to repeat that success. Trinidad and Tobago will look to qualify for its second World Cup since 2006.

Grenada has called up Trevon Williams and Saydrel Lewis, its two scorers during the recent CNL edition, in which the team competed in League A.

Curaçao vs. Barbados 

Curaçao and Barbados will match wits at the Ergilio Hato Stadium in Willemstad, Curaçao.

Rangelo Janga, who had three goals in the Concacaf Nations League A in the past edition, is among the group of scorers called up for the following matches. Eloy Room, Cuco Martina and Leandro Bacuna are other notable names on the latest roster.

Elijah Downey and Tajio James will be among the players to watch for the Barbados contingent that look to leave with a road result prior to its home opener against Haiti on Sunday.

Nicaragua vs. Montserrat

Nicaragua and Montserrat meet at the National Football Stadium in Managua, Nicaragua. The two nations recently met in Concacaf Nations League B last October, with Nicaragua winning both encounters.

The likes of Oscar Acevedo, Matias Moldskred Belli, and Jaime Moreno look to continue a strong home form for Nicaragua in official matches. The nation was unbeaten in CNL play and will also look to keep that streak going in World Cup qualifying.

Brandon Barzey and Lyle Taylor led the way in CNL scoring and are available for selection. Donervon Daniels, Josiah Dyer, and Dominic Richmond will also aim to increase their goal tally with the national team.

Guatemala vs. Dominica

Guatemala and Dominica clash at the Doroteo Guamuch Flores Stadium in Guatemala City.

Rubio Rubin looks to continue adding to his goal count as Guatemala dreams of qualifying for its first World Cup. The latest roster also includes seven players from domestic league champions CSD Municipal.

Dominica has called up three of its top performers from its recent Concacaf Nations League C campaign in Troy Jules, Audel Laville and Briel Thomas.
