ST. JOHN'S, Antigua and Barbuda – Antigua and Barbuda played to a 2-1 win against Guyana in Group C of League B action in the Concacaf Nations League at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda.

The hosts culminated an aggressive start in attack by getting the opening goal off a Quinton Griffith strike in the 15th minute.

Two minutes later, Junior Benjamin would extend the lead for the Benna Boys off another fast-paced attacking play. Antigua and Barbuda led 2-0 after 17 minutes.

Guyana tightened up their defense to reach the halftime whistle without conceding any further goals.

Five minutes into the second half, Emery Welshman would pounce to score for the Golden Jaguars and bring the score to a one goal difference.

Both goalkeepers would be crucial to the scoreline remaining intact.

Guyana’s goalkeeper Akel Clarke denied Juwan Roberts in the 85th minute before Antiguan goalkeeper Molvin James came up with a stop of his own against Welshman less than a minute later.

With the result, Antigua and Barbuda will jump Guyana to take the second place in the group. The two nations meet again on Monday when they face off in Guyana.
