League C comes to close as Bonaire host Saint Martin

MIAMI, Florida – League C of the 2023-24 Concacaf Nations League wraps up on Tuesday with Bonaire hosting Saint Martin in the Group A finale at the Stadion Antonio Trenidat in Rincon, Bonaire.

Bonaire arrive at the contest off a 3-0 win at Anguilla on Saturday in which Thierry Anthony led the way with a brace.

The victory pulled Bonaire to within three points of Saint Martin in the group, however, Tuesday’s visitors have an 11-goal advantage on goal difference, so if Bonaire are to jump their opponents in the table, they will need a sizable win.

The two sides battled to a 2-1 Saint Martin win in their first meeting, and all signs point to another hard-fought contest.

Saint Martin are replete with attacking talent, namely Axel Raga, who leads all players across all leagues in scoring with eight goals. Not to be outdone is Stanley Segarel with five goals to his name.

Even if Bonaire are unable to run down Saint Martin on goal difference, they will be keen to at least get a result, if not a full three points in order to secure the final promotion spot to League B as the best-ranked second-place team.

Meanwhile, Saint Martin only require a win, draw or defeat by five goals or less to clinch the top spot in the group and promotion.
