MIAMI, Florida – Melchie Dumornay scored five goals to help pace Haiti to a 11-0 victory against Saint Kitts and Nevis in Group C of League A of the Road to W Gold Cup on Thursday night at the SKNFA Technical Centre in Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis.
Haiti now rise to the top spot in the group with six points through two games, while Saint Kitts and Nevis are still searching for their first point after two matches.
Haiti came out strong and held a 1-0 lead inside the first 13 minutes with Dumornay hammering home a right-footed shot.
Nerilia Mondesir promptly doubled the Haiti lead to 2-0 in the 20’ after a foul in the Saint Kitts and Nevis area.
Kethna Louis made it 3-0 in the 26’ with a powerful left-footed finish after some exceptional ball movement from Haiti.
A misplayed clearance from the Saint Kitts and Nevis defense paved the way for Dumornay’s second of the night in the 29, stretching it to 4-0. Dumornay then completed her hat trick in the 32’ with a right-footed finish, giving Haiti a 5-0 lead.
Roselord Borgella then got in on the act by redirecting in a shot in front of goal in the 36’, extending it to 6-0.
The scoreboard read 7-0 in the 44’ thanks to Mondesir, who turned in a spilled shot from Saint Kitts and Nevis GK Kyra Dickinson. It was 8-0 at halftime, with Dumornay tacking on her fourth goal of the night.
Dumornay added a fifth goal to her collection in the 55’ by slotting home a left-footed shot for a 9-0 advantage.
Haiti’s prolific night was then capped in the final minutes thanks to goals from Mondesir and Florsie Joseph in the 89’ and 90+2’, respectively, to complete the 11-0 scoreline
