Concacaf President
Victor Montagliani is a Canadian football executive and businessperson who currently serves as President of the Confederation of North, Central America and the Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) and Vice President of FIFA.
Montagliani was elected as Concacaf President in 2016 on a platform of uniting the Confederation as "One Concacaf" and delivering a football-first philosophy. His vision included prioritizing governance reform, revamping the Confederation's competitions to deliver more competitive opportunities for all 41 Concacaf Member Associations, and developing a transformative women's football strategy.
In 2019, major developments at the Confederation included the launch of the groundbreaking Concacaf Nations League for men's national teams and of the "Concacaf W" strategy, which prioritized the development of women's and girls' football in the region. In the same year, Montagliani was re-elected as Concacaf President for a four-year term.
Montagliani serves as a FIFA Vice President and is a member of both the FIFA Council and its Bureau. He is also Co-Chair of the FIFA World Cup 2026, where he is focused on delivering a successful tournament that will elevate and transform the game across the Concacaf region. In addition, he led FIFA’s host city selection process, assessing bids from cities and venues across Canada, Mexico, and the United States to host matches.
Prior to his role as President of Concacaf, Montagliani was President of Canada Soccer from 2012 to 2017, a period which included the successful awarding and delivery of the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup and the development of the strategy that led to the creation of the Canadian Premier League. In 2014, Montagliani Chaired the Organizing Committee for the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup, hosted in Canada. Before serving as President of Canada Soccer, Montagliani served on the organization's board and previously held the position of President of the regional body, British Columbia Soccer.
Montagliani, a recipient of the King Charles III Coronation Medal, was further honored when Vancouver proclaimed September 12 as "Victor Montagliani Day" to recognize his significant contributions to the sport in Vancouver, across Canada, and on the global stage, as well as his leadership within FIFA and Concacaf.
Victor Montagliani is an ambassador for Sport at the Service of Humanity, a Vatican initiative founded by Pope Francis that promotes the power of faith and sport as a platform for social good.
Montagliani’s love for the game began as a child and evolved as he reached elite levels in Canada, playing for Vancouver's Grandview Legion and the senior Columbus team. He also competed in Futsal for the Canada national team. Due to an injury, Montagliani retired as a player at the age of 28, which led him to focus on his business career in the insurance industry. After holding senior executive positions at different firms, along with a group of partners, he built and developed what is now one of Canada's largest independent groups of nationwide insurance and risk management companies.
